Miles' 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday to Miles! I can not believe a year has gone by! Yes, there were some long days in there, but overall the time just flew. My baby became a toddler! Miles had a great birthday. His birthday "theme" was sock monkeys. This was in tribute to Tyler as I made him give his sock monkey away when we got married as I thought it was junk. So, hopefully Tyler will be happy that there is now a sock monkey in the house.

For Miles' Birthday, we went to the zoo. I have never seen a one-year-old so excited about animals. We went at the end of the day, 5pm, which I would recommend to everyone. The place clears out and you have the zoo practically to yourself for an hour. Also, the animals were all very active. There are lots of baby animals right now too-- 3 baby tigers, a baby giraffe, elephant, and snow leopard, to name a few. It was actually really fun! We finished off the evening at TGIF.

The next day we continued the celebration with a party at the park with our families. All the grandparents and great-grandparents were present as well as most of the aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was the perfect day for a picnic, presents, cake, and kite flying (Ty's $1 kites were the highlight).
At the zoo. We finally got the boys to sit on the elephant if daddy sat there too.

5 YEARS!!

Yes, We have made it 5 years!! Ty and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary, and, yes, I still love you TY!!
Tracie and Mark were celebrating their 1st anniversary, and they talked us in to going on a cruise for our dual celebrations. We aboarded ship Carnival in San Diego, CA and were going to Cabo San Lucas. A five day cruise in all! Besides the hurricane warning and our diversion from Cabo to Catalina/Ensenada instead (note to those considering these ports--stay on the ship), it was a blast! Yes, the entertainment was good (most of it anyway). Some highlights: A hilarious(and a little crude) comedian, fun ship games, some decent live music, extremely good and horrific karaoke, winning in the casino, Ty being pulled up on stage, plenty of R & R, too little Diet Coke (okay, that was a low), and Dinner time with our cute little servers. Oh, I am so cute, writing in the sand: Jaime heart Ty, 5 years. Our Cruise Ship: Carnival Elation
Ty breaking it down to MJ (Michael Jackson) in the dance circle.

Cruising in the doon buggy in Ensenada

On our way to Dinner. It was fun to get all dressed up at night and stay up real late (midnight, wow!)

Celebrating our Heritage

Happy 24th of July! (I am always a few weeks behind on my blog)
So I saw a picture of this cake in a magazine at work, and I had to give it a try. Not as cute as the magazine picture, but I think I did pretty good! It actually tasted decent too!
So what...I am a rock star...I got my rock moves...
Tyler got talked into some blue and red hair gel from his Great Clips stylist (don't tell Tracie), so we had to try it out on the boys too. And it washed out the next day. Well, except for my fair-haired Miles. He had a pink tone to his hair for about a week. But it made our celebration that much more exciting...
...If you can call sparklers exciting?! Of course, they are exciting. Look at those happy faces (or a little scared). The kids "warmed-up" to it. And, I know Ty and Chad had a "blast" lighting the flowers and fountains (all 6 that we got in our pack) Fireworks are a rip off!

4th of July

We spent the weekend in Park City at the Marriott MountainSide Resort. The night before we were off to the Oakley Rodeo--Yeehaw! Actually, I enjoyed it! And the kids, suprisingly, watched the whole thing! I don't know how those cowboys do it. They seem to get beat up on those bucking horses and bulls. OUCH! But good entertainment!
The next we spent lazily by the pool. We did walk a few blocks to the park city parade in our matching t-shirts. How cute! The night ended with fireworks on the mountainside. It was a really good show. The fireworks were right above our heads, noisely bursting in the air, but somehow both my boys fell asleep! How do they do that?
